How are you celebrating Tasty Tuesday? Going with the edible greeting cards from Hallmark? How about a bouquet of tasty roses for that special someone? Perhaps you are celebrating at one of the many Tasty Tuesday parties being held around the world?
Fine, we made all that up. Still, it is Tuesday and we found ourselves hungry, so we have created the first ever Dad Does Tasty Tuesday. Companies like to send us a lot of food and snacks to review, probably in a secret plan to fatten us up and eat us. To be honest, some of the stuff taste like regurgitated cardboard, but other treats are really tasty. All day today we will be discussing some of the tasty treats we have been eating at Dad Does.
Kraft Milkbite Milk and Granola Bars – Finally A Granola Bar That Does Not Suck
Believe me, I have always wanted to love granola bars. They are portable, great snacks to give to the kids, come in endless flavors and don’t seem insanely unhealthy. Unfortunately, here is how it always plays out in my house. We try some new type of granola bars, because the kids say they like them. As soon as we buy a bunch of the bars the kids suddenly decide they don’t like them anymore. They complain they are messy, too hard, don’t taste great and you know what, they are right!
So, when Kraft sent us their new Kraft Milkbite Milk & Granola Bars we were not expecting much. Once we got the box, filled with ice packs, we realized these were not your typical granola bars. Yes, these are granola bars that you need to keep refrigerator and will be sold (starting Feb 13, 2012 and selling for $3.49 a box) in the refrigerated food aisle.
It’s Like a Bowl Of Yummy Cereal Just Had a Party in My Mouth
We tried both the Strawberry and the Chocolate Milkbite Bars and those suckers are tasty. The bars are incredibly moist and it really feels more like you are eating a bowl of granola than chewing on another rock hard granola bar. The Milkbite bars are made with real milk and deliver as much calcium as an 8oz glass of milk (30% daily value of calcium). In addition, the bars have 10% of your daily Vitamin D, 5 grams of protein, a good source of fiber and no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives.
On the box of the Milkbite Milk & Granola Bars they say “creamy taste” and amazingly for a granola bar, that is actually true. Will the Milkbite bars make you younger, richer and the world’s greatest parent? No, but they make a great new snack option for the whole family and that is enough to earn it a spot in Tasty Tuesday!
