Last year we covered the Natural Products Expo and learned one important lesson – manufacturers were coco for coconuts! It felt like you could hardly spit without hitting another brand of coconut water. Not that we walked around the show floor spitting. Well, except when we had that organic, gluten free, all natural green food pizza – but that’s a completely different story…
Natural Products Expo East – More Green Than A Forest
Because we care about you, we are making the trek down to Baltimore for the Natural Products Expo East 2011 (9/22 – 9/24). What is Expo East you ask?
“Attended by as many as 25,000 industry professionals and featuring thousands of exhibits, Natural Products Expo East (www.expoeast.com) is the largest natural, organic, and healthy products trade show on the East Coast. With the newest and best-selling products and branded ingredients available this show features the best in organic at All Things Organic/Organic Products Expo-BioFach America, offers an extensive retailer training program and provides an advocacy platform through a strategic partnership with Natural Products Association East. Natural Products Expo East is ranked as one of the top 200 tradeshows in the US.”
Basically, Expo East is the place where you can find anything and everything that is natural and organic. Food, supplements, clothes, pet products and basically anything else that could be made in a natural or organic way will be on display at Expo East.
Why Dad Does Feels a Need to Cover Natural Products Expo East?
First and foremost, because we like eating free organic food. Oh, and then there is also that thing about trying to find healthy, natural and organic food and snack choices for busy parents. Yeah, maybe that second thing should really be first and foremost?
Seriously, we know that busy Moms and Dads are always trying to find healthy food choices for their family. The problem is, as you walk down the aisle of Whole Foods or your local market, everything looks good from the packaging. A lunch snack for the kids that is all natural and low in sugar sounds like a winner – but if it taste like cardboard the kids will never eat it.
Our goal at Expo East is to taste test all the new food and snack options and report back on which products are natural, healthy and taste good! From 9/22/11 – 9/24/11 we will be making the ultimate sacrifice for you, our dear readers. We will eat strange green foods and try to smile politely as we fight back the gag reflect. We will risk chocking on some all natural peanut butter…made without any peanuts. But it will all be worth it if we can find some cool new snack and food choices for busy Moms, Dads and the family.
