Yep, it is that time of year again.
No not Valentine’s Day…we are talking about Toy Fair in New York City!
What is Toy Fair?
Oddly enough, Toy Fair is one of the few places in NYC where you will not find kids. Yep, it is 18 and up and really meant as a place that toy makers and toy sellers can connect.
Here is the official description…
“The 116th annual North American International Toy Fair will open its doors to thousands of registered global play professionals to explore more than 440,000 net square feet of exhibit space filled with hundreds of thousands of toys, games, and youth entertainment products.
Toy Fair is produced by The Toy Association, Inc.™ – the not-for-profit trade association representing all businesses involved in creating and bringing toys and youth entertainment products to kids of all ages. The Toy Association’s more than 950 members account for approximately 90 percent of the annual U.S. domestic toy market of $27 billion.”
What Are We Doing At Toy Fair?
Playing with toys of course!
Oh right, we are actually working. And by working I mean…playing with toys!
In all seriousness, we will be scouting out all the fun new toys coming in 2019 and reporting on what we find. Since our fingers get tired quickly and no one really likes to read anymore, most of our coverage will be in hands-on play videos over on our Dad Does YouTube Channel.
So if you like toys or your kids like toys or you ever find yourself needing to buy a toy for a kid…yeah, basically everyone… check back in a week or two and learn all the latest and greatest in the world of toys!
