Review: Inventio-HD Pro 1080P Video Sunglasses, Privacy Is Overrated Anyway

Inventio-HD Pro

Inventio-HD Pro

You ever have that feeling when you walk into a bank, notice the cameras pointing at you from every possible angle, and start to feel a little self conscious?  Well, time to feel that way every moment of your life!  Cameras are everywhere and while we could get all teary eyed about the lack of privacy in the world today, who has time for that?  If you can’t beat’em, join’em.  Throw on a pair of SpyTec Inventio-HD Pro Video Sunglasses and go from in front of the Big Brother camera to behind it!

A pair of lightweight sunglasses that can record in 1080P HD?  We knew we had to test these out…before our kids got them.  Please watch our detailed video review of the Inventio-HD Pro 1080P Video Sunglasses -

Action Camera or Spy Camera?  You Decide!

While the Inventio-HD Pro comes from a company called SpyTec and you could clearly figure out plenty of privacy invading spy uses for the glasses, we really think the real appeal is having a high quality, hands-free action camera with you at all times.

On a vacation with the kids, press a button on the side of your high quality, polarized sunglasses and you are capturing everything you see.  I actually hate taking videos during a vacation because it takes me out of the moment.  Rather than enjoying the trip, I am starring at a screen and everyone is acting weird for the camera.  With the Inventio-HD Pro, you just enjoy your trip and in the end edit down the footage to the highlights.

Of course there are numerous other uses for the Inventio-HD Pro.  Bike riding, Skiing, Running, Nerf Wars, Concerts and on and on.  The simplicity of the Inventio-HD means you will actually use it.  No head mounts to figure out, no poles to attach your camera to – put your sunglassses on, press the only button on the sunglasses and you are good to go.

Sure, There Are Some Improvements We Would Love…

Overall, for the $149 price tag, we were very impressed with the Inventio-HD Pro video sunglasses.  There are some places for improvement.  It would be great if there was an easier way to change settings, instead of editing a text file.  Would be nice if some indicator on the glasses told you what mode the camera was set in (1080P, 720P, quality setting, etc).  How cool would it be if the glasses used Bluetooth to pair with your phone so you can change settings, view setting and playback what you recorded?

In the end, our ideas would add weight, decrease battery life and make the glasses more complicated…maybe this is why we are not in the business of designing spy glasses :)   The Inventio-HD Pro is incredibly easy to use, has great video quality and as an added bonus gives you that cool James Bond feel.

Now if you will excuse me, I need to go comb my hair – I figure my cat who has been starring at me must have a cat camera somewhere on him.
