Last week we reviewed the XDrone Nano RC quadcopter and we were impressed with the technology in such a small package. Well, I guess “Nano” is a relative term because the Silverlit Nano Falcon RC Helicopter makes the XDrone Nano look huge!
You see, there is small, then there is Guinness Book of World Records small. That’s right, the Nano Falcon is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the smallest RC helicopter. We knew the Nano Falcon was something we had to fly and review.
Please watch our video review of the Nano Falcon from Silverlit -
How Do They Pack So Much In Such a Small Package?
When you first see the tiny 3 inch Nano Falcon you assume it can’t really fly with any precision. However, after spending some time with the Nano Falcon you will be very impressed. The Nano Falcon is a 3 channel indoor helicopter that flies up, down, forward, backward, left and right. Built-in Gyro Stabilizer makes flying relatively easy and the precise variable speed rotor delivers excellent flying control.
IR Remote Means You Need to Keep the Nano Falcon In Sight
The Nano Falcon uses an IR Remote as opposed to a radio frequency remote. This simply means that you need to be pointing the remote at the Nano Falcon to work. In addition, IR remotes don’t work well outside (sunlight effects the signals) – but you really can’t fly the Nano Falcon outside anyway because any breeze would knock it off course.
No Stunts, Just Fun Indoor Flying
If you are looking for a RC helicopter that has cameras, apps and does stunts – the Nano Falcon is not for you. The Nano Falcon is a fun to fly, super small indoor RC helicopter that is addictive to play with. You will find yourself trying to navigate through tiny passages, just to see if you can do it. Luckily, we found the Nano Falcon to be very durable for such a small helicopter…because with exploration of tiny passages always comes the increased probability of crashes!
