Review: AT&T Unite Pro 4G LTE Hotspot, Now You Can Bath Your Family In WiFi

AT&T Unite Pro

As a responsible Dad, I have to be prepared for any family emergencies that come my way.   Of course I have the First Aid kit in the car and an escape ladder in the closet in case there is a fire, but what if there is a real emergency?  You might want to be seated as I say this, and if you are squeamish, now would be a good time to look away from the screen.  Just imagine the horror and earth shattering screams you would hear from the kids if you checked into a hotel that did not have WiFi!

The mere thought of not being able to watch NetFlix or maybe miss out on the latest cat to learn to play piano on Facebook is so horrific, I knew I needed to find a gadget that could prevent this life altering experience.  Luckily, the AT&T Unite Pro 4G LTE Hotspot may be just the gadget to prevent totally chaos in your family.

What Makes The AT&T Unite Pro HotSpot Special?

WiFi HotSpots are nothing new, so why are we so excited about the AT&T Unite Pro?  We could launch in to a whole discussion of all the technology in the Netgear made Unite Pro, but who really cares about that?  We care about gadgets that work in the real world, to make a parent’s life easier, better or more fun in some way.  The Unite Pro absolutely succeeds on this level and here is why…

  • Simple To Use

The easy to read 2.4 inch touchscreen on the Unite Pro makes it very easy to use.  Once you activate the device, you just enter the WiFi password shown on the Unite Pro into your tablet, computer, Nintendo 3DS…you get the idea, and you are good to go.

  • Willing To Work Long Hours

Family life can get crazy.  I have a hard enough time remembering to pick up my kids from school, I have no time to remember to keep things plugged in and charged all the time.  Amazingly, the Unite Pro provides 16 hours of use from one charge.  In addition, you can get about 15 days of standby on a single charge.  All of this is accomplished by a 4020 mAh battery, which means nothing to me – but I love the fact that the device goes forever on a single charge.

  • Willing To Give a Helping Hand

In our family, everyone needs to help out…gadgets included!  The Unite Pro has a big beautiful battery, most cell phones do not.  If your cell phone dies, simply plug the battery boost cable into the phone and the Unite Pro will charge your phone for you.  Note to parents, after a long day I have tried plugging the battery boost cable into my ear, unfortunately it did not boost my battery :)

  • Shares Well With Others

All parents know the importance of sharing, thankfully the Unite Pro knows this as well.  Up to 16 devices can share the 4G LTE signal from the Unite Pro.  Start adding up the laptops, tablets and portable game systems that all want WiFi access and you quickly see why easy sharing is essential.

  • Speed When You Need It

I have come to the conclusion that no matter how much I wish it, my Minivan is not going to transform into a Corvette.   So, I look for my need for speed to come from other places.  If you have support for Dual Band WiFi on your devices, you can turn this on on the Unite Pro and blast through the web like a race car driver.

The Negative To The AT&T Unite Pro?  Cost

As the video explains, our experience with the AT&T Unite Pro was very positive.  Absolutely no problems with the hardware, it works exactly as advertised.  The only negative is having to pay another service bill.  You can buy the AT&T Unite Pro for $49, with a 2 year contract.  Or you can pay $199 with no contract and then just buy bandwidth as you need it.  There are a number of different service plans, so probably best to check the AT&T site to see what specials they have to offer.

One advantage to having the Unite Pro, is that you can save money when you buy new tablets.  Rather than buying the more expensive cellular connectivity version of a tablet, get the less expensive WiFi only version.  If you buy a few tablets, this savings can really add up and then it makes the price of the Unite Pro much more appealing.

If Being Bathed In WiFi Is Important To You – Buy The AT&T Unite Pro

If the idea of having a small device that can keep all your gadgets connected to the internet sounds appealing to you, you will love the AT&T Unite Pro.  The AT&T Unite Pro is simple to use, packed with useful features and can be used in so many different settings.  Obviously if you have a cell phone that can create a WiFi hotspot, you will have less need for the Unite Pro.

Now if you will excuse me, I need to go put my Unite Pro in the First Aid Kit – I like to be prepared for any emergency!
